Your hosts: Marguerite and Frances

21-23 October We're Offering an Art Crawl Special!

Marguerite has been a potter for 46 years, working in porcelain and firing with gas to 2400 F. "When I combine clay, stones, feathers and other natural elements in my work, I am weaving the web and telling the story. We remember and reclaim the vital heritage of womyn as artists, creators of culture." The focus of my work is to be a storyteller in clay. Using clay as a canvas, I specialize in vessels that celebrate strong, rich matriarchal imagery and the sacred in nature."

The weekend at the Art Crawl [22/23 October] you'll visit Marguerite's studio and shop.

In the last several summer harvest seasons she's also been working with a different kind of heat - the kitchen stove. Marguerite has made hundreds of jars of old-fashioned apple butter from a prolific tree in the garden, along with her delicious corn relish [try it on anything, including a nice cheddar cheese sandwich] and cucumber pickles. And there are special fairies in the bottom of our garden who make sure we have a delicious harvest of raspberries, Marguerite uses the heat of the stove to transform the heat of the sun into delicious raspberry jam. You'll be gifted with a basket of these delectable treats to take home.

There's always a welcome basket of baked goods, coffee [cream in the refrigerator], and tea when you arrive at the Honeysuckle Rose Cottage. There's a 10% discount on our cottage guests' purchases of pottery in the studio's shop.

The Art Crawl gives us an opportunity to invite you to our cottage for a two night weekend stay at $300 for two guests. Call us for rates for up to seven guests and bring along friends.
